Our Melyn Yr Eithin - Yellowhammer is an award winning dry traditional mead made with Welsh honey. It is 13% ABV and is the perfect mead for white wine drinkers!
It is in fact, as close to a white wine as we can make it, without having any grapes in it. It retains a little hint of honey sweetness but it is mainly the flavour of the honey that remains. It has a high acidity and is lovely and fresh.
We hear lots of people say “Mead is sickly sweet” so we wanted to prove them wrong and make a mead that can be enjoyed with your main course. We have used this mead to make Moules Marinière, it goes well with oysters, sea bass and chicken dishes and we have been known to take this one with us to our local Indian restaurant.
It comes in a 500ml glass bottle with a resealable bar top style wood and cork closure.
